MANCHESTER UNITED 1-2 MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City clinched a record 14th consecutive top-flight victory in the sweetest possible manner with a 2-1 win over rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi scored the goals as Pep Guardiola's men opened up an ominous 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League with victory in the 175th Manchester derby.

Marcus Rashford had punished a defensive lapse from Otamendi and Fabian Delph in first-half stoppage-time, but United were unable to find a second as a stunning double save from Ederson denied Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata from snatching a point.
United's third defeat of the season brings their 40-match unbeaten home run to an end while strengthening City's grip on the title after just 16 matches.

Fiorentina have officially announced the signing of midfielder dynamo Bryan Boulaye Kevin Dabo from Saint-Étienne. The Serie A side announces the outright signing of the player Bryan Dabo from the Association Sportive de Saint-Étienne Loire, a statement on the Viola’s website confirms. The 25-year-old has one cap for the French Under-21 side, and previously played for Montpellier, as well as having a loan spell in England with Blackburn Rovers. Dabo won the French title with Montpellier in the 2011-12 season. The new Viola player will be in Florence today for his medicals. Dabo was born on February 13 1992 in Marseille and boasts one cap for the Under-21 side of his country.

Paris Saint-Germain new sensational striker Kylian  Sanmi  Mbappé  Lottin is confident that his side can end Real Madrid’s dominance in European football. The French international, who was reportedly a summer transfer target for the Los Blancos, has got off to a fast start with the Parisians, netting 11 goals in his opening 18 starts for the club. “Of course we are able to defeat Real Madrid,” Mbappe told Telefoot, in quotes carried by the Spanish press. “It will be a massive challenge and it will not be easy but our efforts until February will build up to the match and we will be ready. “If you want to win the Champions League you must defeat  the best teams and Madrid are undoubtedly one of them.”a

LJAJIC OUT FOR THE YEAR

Torino midfielder Adem Ljajic’s has suffered a thigh injury that will rule him out for the rest of 2017. The Serbian international came on for Mirko Valdifiori at half-time in the loss to Napoli, but picked up a muscular injury. Today the Granata have confirmed that Ljajic missed today’s training session with the rest of his team mates, with scans revealing “a strain to the right biceps femoris muscle”. Ljajic will be out of tomorrow’s Coppa Italia match with Roma. While further scans are planned for the coming days, Sky reports that the creative midfielder is likely to miss the games with Spal and Genoa, making his return in the new year.
