WE ARE'NT PRIORITIZING ANY COMPETITION-CALLEJON

José María Callejón Bueno insists Napoli are not prioritizing any  competition after their 3-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Rumors are circulating that Napoli are focusing on then Serie A after opening a four-point gap at the top of the table and run of three defeats in four Champions League games.

However, Tuesday’s victory means they can reach the last 16 if they beat Feyenoord and Shakhtar lose to Manchester City in two weeks’ time.
“It was an important match, although what we’re playing for doesn’t depend on us,” the winger said after the game.

“Still, [winning] was important for those on the pitch and off it. Now our minds are back on the League, but we always want to go forward, both in Champions League and Serie A and also in the Coppa Italia.

“There are so many games to be played, but we have the right mentality to move forward.”

LJAJIC OUT FOR THE YEAR

Torino midfielder Adem Ljajic’s has suffered a thigh injury that will rule him out for the rest of 2017. The Serbian international came on for Mirko Valdifiori at half-time in the loss to Napoli, but picked up a muscular injury. Today the Granata have confirmed that Ljajic missed today’s training session with the rest of his team mates, with scans revealing “a strain to the right biceps femoris muscle”. Ljajic will be out of tomorrow’s Coppa Italia match with Roma. While further scans are planned for the coming days, Sky reports that the creative midfielder is likely to miss the games with Spal and Genoa, making his return in the new year.
